Why Did You Leave Me?

By Mabi Azefor Fominyen

I woke up this morning thinking of someone I loved so dearly.
I loved him so much and I always wanted him by me so dearly.

But he left me.
Indeed he left me!

Time has passed but the love I had for him has stayed on.
If I could turn back the hands of time, I would, just to have him stay by me!

Thirteen years have gone past yet it feels like yesterday!
Thirteen indeed, for he left on August 6, 1996
And today is August 6, 2009.
And I am wondering:

How time passes!
How I still think of you dearly!
How I still miss you dearly!

How wonderful such moments were, with you loving, caring, teaching and guiding!
How you made me grow through life rather than go through it, aiming high!
How you lastly told me to “Be Careful in all you do”.

You gave me life and a sense of direction.
You taught me never to forget what you defined as
“The basic needs of life- God, Education, Food/Water, Shelter & Medication”.
You often walked the talk.

Yours was an exemplary life, a life worth emulating Dad!
I thank God for you papa!

But you left me too soon Dad! You left us too soon Papa!

Sometimes I wonder if I ever told you I loved you dearly!
Would you have stayed longer if I did? RIP dad!

What heartrending piece!

Mabs, I feel your pain for I know the bond between you and Papa. I saw, felt and touched it. Papa loved us all and very much too. Do not beat yourself too hard my dear, for I cannot count the number of times and in how many different ways we all told Dad how much we loved him, but God called him Home any way!

Do not beat yourself too hard because we tried all we could to keep him here; I climbed mountains, slept in the cold, eat with strangers, carried ordained spring waters, all to safe Papa but his time was up and he had to go Home!

He is sleeping in peace at Home until we all get there for a family reunion.

Adieu Papa till we meet to part no more!

O God, Who Hast commanded us to honor our father and our mother; in Thy Mercy have pity on the soul of Pa Azefor.
O Forgive him his trespasses; and make her to see him again in the Joy of Everlasting Brightness.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Dear Lady Mab+'s!
1 Cor.
15:51. Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall all indeed rise again: but we shall not all be changed.
15:55. O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?
15:56. Now the sting of death is sin: and the power of sin is the law.
15:57. But thanks be to God, who hath given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
15:58. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast and unmoveable: always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
15:13. But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen again.
15:14. And if Christ be not risen again, then is our preaching vain: and your faith is also vain.
So Be It.
